bloggingMLM blogging requires the right mindset. If you are not in the right frame of mind, you may not get very far. It might sound harsh, but unfortunately that is a cold reality you will have to face and overcome. Firstly, understand what you are up against. You will have to be consistent in your efforts, regardless of what might get in the way. The time you allocate yourself every day will have to be applied day after day, whether you feel like it or not. If you start doing it “when you feel like it”, you won’t get much done. As such, do not try to do too much. Don’t try to move the world every day. Yes, you might be all fired up right now, but if you push yourself too hard day after day, you are likely to burn yourself out at some or other time. If that happens, it could take months before you have the will to continue. Blogging is not a sprint – it is a marathon. Pace yourself.

Secondly, find your WHY. Why are you doing this? Not just for blogging, but network marketing in general. If that reason strong enough to keep you going when your day was hectic, or when you are feeling less than perfect? Dig deep into your hearth, and find the REAL reason. It might be something that sounds stupid to others, but it has to be the real reason YOU will keep going. If it feels right, you have uncovered the real reason why you want to achieve MLM success. Keep your “why” to yourself. If you allow others to question it or to attack it, you could find yourself totally de-motivated and without any sense of direction.

Thirdly, associate with people who will support you. Make no mistake – those around you may very well put you down. You cannot expect your wife, family and friends even your sponsor to understand the road you chose, or what you hope to achieve. To them, what you are doing might be interesting at first, but they may very well consider it a waste of time if the prospects or downlines doesn’t come rolling in within a month. Have you ever heard about “the lobster effect”? In real life, if you place a number of lobsters in a shallow container that they can easily get out of, none of them, will climb out. Every time one of them tries to leave, the others pull him back. It is the same with those around you. Additionally, it is in our human nature to distrust, and view negatively everything we don’t understand. And of course, they don’t understand the what, the how or the why of what you are trying to achieve. Join social groups and forums where like-minded people connect and support each other. Besides picking up tips and ideas from fellow members, you will be around people who are facing the same hurdles as you, and who are all traveling in the same direction. These are the people who will help you to pick yourself up when you feel down and unable to work on your network marketing blogging. Lastly, know what to expect. blogging for network marketing or otherwise, is something that takes time. Think of it as planting a tree. It will take a lot of work and time to get it to the point where it bears fruit, but once you get there, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor for a long, long time. For a number of months, your traffic is likely to be just a drip. Then one day, you will slowly see it starting to pick up, and from there you will see it slowly growing. It is called “the tipping point” – the point where the combination of all the content you have put out, combined with all the promotion you have done, finally starts getting some traction. At the start of blogging, it feels as if nothing is going to happen – for quite some time – but one day you will just start seeing the leads coming in slowly, and then more regularly. If you stop before that day, you will be like many miners who stopped just short of hitting gold. Whatever you do, keep going. Every day brings you closer to MLM success, even if it doesn’t feel that way. In the next post in the MLM Blog Training – part 3, we will be looking at planning.
